*sigh*...

These photos are here to remind me of the awesome beauty of my part of the world.. This is 7 mile beach and it is only 10 minutes drive away from the Hobart airport and approximately 30 minutes drive from Hobart..
It is probably an hours drive from my home...

I took the offspring to the Airport today..He is spending the next 2 weeks with his cousin in South Australia..
HE WAS PUMPED! HE WAS ECSTATICALLY EXCITED....HE WAS GIVING ME A HEADACHE..

I was nervous about my son flying alone. I had butterflies as I was driving him to the airport, (big big fluttery butterflies). I was excited for my son and pleased that my very shy boy had somehow morphed into this confident young man..But at the same time I was sad. *sigh*

As he walked towards the plane he turned and waved and gave me the hugest 'shiteating grin' and I just grinned back hehehehe. Then just as he was about to board the plane he turned again and gave me the thumbs up, still with the silly grin all over his face....

My nephew and I stayed to watch the plane take-off and we watched the plane carrying my solo flyer until I couldn't see it in the sky anymore *sigh*

Then just because we could, my nephew and I went to the beach for a walk and we found some cool shells and some sea sponges and rocks and stuff...

cheers kim..

Love this post - that first step on the roag to serious independence - and then a nice quiet walk on the beach!

Will he be gone long enough for the boy smell to dissipate?

Just dropped in from Missus Tex...and your story could of been mine a few years ago (you had me sighing..lol) Hes now more 'air fluent' then me..but it was the same a few days ago, seeing him off on a plane..He now knows to stop on the tarmac, and wave as I'm still sooki and taking photos..(oh and I still get the thumbs up)

Your lad will be fine, and full of storys...

I'm Australian and never realised Tasmania had beaches (blush)

Loved this post..x

What a gorgeous, gorgeous place! I want to visit Australia so bad and my husband, who is a nervous flyer and never wants to fly anywhere, says the only place he would fly to is Australia because he wants to see it to bad too. He's angling to go there for a work trip this fall. I'm angling to go with him. It would cost us airfare for me and we would stay in a cheap motel, but it's still probably too much money. Fingers crossed, though, that someday I will get to see your beautiful homeland!
